nutrition
strong food builds strong families
Good nutrition, healthy eating and a healthy weight helps us to lead a happier, longer life and reduces our risk of chronic disease.
Apunipima provides both community nutrition programs/projects and community dietetic services to Cape York communities. We work in partnership with community members, community-based health workers, maternal and child health staff, other allied health workers, such as diabetes educators, and the health promotion team, to help encourage optimal nutrition and help create supportive environments to help make healthy choices easier.
Our community dietitians are Accredited Practicing Dietitians (APDs) and are university qualified professionals. They can help translate scientific health and nutrition information into practical advice for personalised advice and support.
