Lifetime Achievement Award for Yvonne Cadet-James

 In News

On Wednesday, July 17th we celebrated and congratulated Professor Yvonne Cadet-James on her well deserved ‘Lifetime Achievement’ Award through The Lowitja Institute.

Apunipima staff and welcomed guests from Catholic Health Australia gathered for lunch to hear about Yvonne’s career experiences from both CEO Paul Stephenson and herself. There is no doubt this is a remarkable achievement and warranted, as it recognises her commitment and expertise in Aboriginal Health and Wellbeing. Providing 45 years of experience in the fields of health and education with a background as a registered nurse and midwife, followed by a career as an academic.

In her role as Research Coordinator at Apunipima, Yvonne is responsible for the coordination and review of research, strengthening the research culture and capability within the organisation and the eleven communities in which the organisation services.

As a Gugu Badhun nation member, she provides leadership for the Gugu Badhun Djima Research Centre activities.

Again we thank and congratulate Yvonne on what she has and will achieve.
