Bamaga is a small town about 40km from the northern tip of Cape York in the north of Queensland, commonly known as the Northern Peninsula Area Region.

In the 2016 census, Bamaga had a population of 1,164 people with 957 identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
