Unfortunately, a lot of Cape York Aboriginal People think that they are automatically Members of Apunipima Cape York Health Council. This is not true.
There are many good things about becoming a member of Apunipima Cape York Health Council. Here's a few:

- You only need to join once.
- You will be part of a strong and informed voice for the health needs of your clan, families and community.
- You will be a member of a proud and strong Aboriginal Corporation that has had a highly respected level of financial accountability and proven record of achievements since its formation ten years ago.
- You can be informed have your say on the future directions of Apunipima and help to lead the way to a healthier future.
- You can vote at your community elections for your male and female representatives on the Cape York Health Committee.
- You can be nominated for election to the Apunipima Cape York Health Committee at your community Health Council elections held every two years.
- You can attend and vote at all Apunipima General Meetings. (eg. AGM).
- You will be on the Apunipima Mailing list to receive health information, our annual report and our newsletter ‘Apunipima Action'.
The rules of Apunipima Cape York Health Council require Cape York Aboriginal People to become members of the Health Council before they can have their full say at meetings.
The Health Council was formed to be your lead voice for improvements to health services and to support local community health action. Apunipima is fighting hard for the needed improvements in health services, and planning with Cape communities for a healthier future, but; We need your voice and support by becoming a member.
You do need to be an Aboriginal Person from Cape York or be accepted by the Cape York Indigenous Community.
Just download and fill out the form with your name, address and choose one community that you identify with. Don't forget to sign and date it at the bottom.
Your application will be tabled at the next Apunipima Board Meeting for approval. After this happens, and your Membership is accepted, a full membership pack will be sent to you in the mail.
