Unfortunately, a lot of Cape York Aboriginal People think that they are automatically Members of Apunipima Cape York Health Council. This is not true.

The rules of Apunipima Cape York Health Council require Cape York Aboriginal People to become members of the Health Council before they can have their full say at meetings. The Health Council was formed to be your lead voice for improvements to health services and to support local community health action. Apunipima is fighting hard for the needed improvements in health services, and planning with Cape communities for a healthier future, but; We need your voice and support by becoming a member.

You do need to be an Aboriginal Person from Cape York o r be accepted by the Cape York Indigenous Community. Just download and fill out the form with your name, address and choose one community that you identify with. Don't forget to sign and date it at the bottom.

Your application will be tabled at the next Apunipima Board Meeting for approval. After this happens, and your Membership is accepted, a full membership pack will be sent to you in the mail.
